Universal Gadgets is a UK based company who specialise in accessories for popular gadgets. Their products include accessories for the iPhone, Bluetooth, computer games, and mobile phones. They have a reputation as a trusted and reputable seller across many different marketplaces.
They wanted to implement a stock control and automation feature that would help organise and sell more of their huge product range. They also wanted to improve customer satisfaction across ebay, Amazon, and Play.com to assert themselves as one of the top contenders in those marketplaces.
With a company that processes large amounts of orders such as Universal Gadgets, they had many courier services and integrations to consider when implementing their products. Not only this, but they required the system to be implemented during their quiet period – which took some late nights from the Pitaron team.
“I could not speak highly enough of Pitaron and would strongly recommend anyone changing or starting Linnworks to give them a call”
– Jordan Humphries, Universal Gadgets
We implemented their selling channels and online stores together in one single location. This enabled them to accurately and precisely control their huge order workloads. They can do this by using simple, automated rules for their most time-consuming tasks such as processing orders, custom dispatch emails, shipping assignment, and label printing for couriers.
Couriers such as Royal Mail and DPD are now auto-assigned to orders using a custom rule set, leading to large savings and ROI on accurate postage costs. Time is saved by allowing orders to be processed in bulk, scanned and packed for shipping with a fast turnaround. Once the system was set up, we trained key staff in-house to be able to handle the new system like seasoned professionals.
Universal Gadgets required Linnworks to be customised to fit their order fulfilment processes and needed it to run like clockwork. This meant customisation of existing Linnworks processes such as label printing and volume to fit perfectly into the organisation’s process flow. Also, custom scripting was implemented to change the way labels were printed. We added pick lists to speed up and ensure the business practices of Universal Gadgets remained unchanged for a seamless transition when we went live.
After implementation, their orders could begin to be processed with automation and proper stock control. The gargantuan task of printing orders for packing and processing them individually has been addressed. This saved the organisation hundreds of man-hours per month on time-consuming tasks.
After the “live launch” we have continued to work with Universal Gadgets to implement solutions as their business changes to ensure they remain competitive with top online sellers. Before the installation, they were one of the first UK companies to have over 1 million positive ratings. Since going live, they have smashed this milestone in half the time and now have a positive rating of 2 million plus.
Thanks to the in-house training sessions they can adjust and manage the new system, as well as train members of staff to use the system.
